HOW?
Liquid intuitively finds an issue of humanity hiding inside an inspiring, entertaining story. That issue is then brought to life and highlighted through a companion Action Campaign purposed to immediately and creatively connect the audience’s entertainment experience with tangible, sustainable humanitarian good.
WHY?
It was founded on the experience and belief that entertainment is a powerful force, and the emotions & thoughts evoked through good storytelling should not be wasted but immediately utilized to move audiences to take actions that benefit humanity personally, locally & globally.
BIOS
ELKIN ANTONIOU | co-founder, partner
Los Angeles native and second-generation entertainment professional, Elkin began her career as a ballet dancer and actress. As the co-owner and Executive Producer of Chapter 7 Films, she served commercial and music video clients including: Jaclyn Smith International, Safe Haven, De Angelis Records, Awaken Films, and Astonish Entertainment. She co-produced the Oscar nominated short film, Most. It was an experience that motivated her to form the non-profit organization LA Loves, where she produced action and media campaigns for the Salvation Army & Angels of East Africa. As a storyteller and humanitarian, Elkin’s vision and passion to create and connect engaging commercial entertainment with tangible philanthropy propelled her to co-found Liquid Worldwide. For Liquid, she is currently writing and producing the documentary film & action campaign, Never Neverland, and is in development to produce the feature film, Breathing Water. Her favorite productions are the two beautiful children she raises with hubby, Bobby G.
BOBBY GARABEDIAN | partner
Bobby began his career as an actor on shows such as: CSI, NYPD Blue, Picket Fences, Party Of Five, and Chicago Hope. He studied under acclaimed acting coach, Larry Moss in LA and NYC. Music Video and Commercial list include spots for Kenneth Cole, Got Milk?, Kodak, Life Cereal, Safe Haven, and Jaclyn Smith International. He wrote and directed music videos for such artists as Unified Theory, London Artists – Maresa Macbeth and Jack Savoretti, Merle Haggard, and Sara Evans – including her #1 video Perfect. In 2001 Bobby left for Europe to write and direct his short film debut entitled Most. In 2003 Most premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. It won “Best of Festival” at the Palm Springs International Film Festival, received a “Crystal Heart Award” at the Heartland Film Festival and won “Best Short Film”, “Audience Award”, and “Best Newcomer in Film” Award at the Maui Film Festival. In 2004 Bobby was nominated for an Academy Award for “Best Live-Action Short Film”. For Liquid, Bobby is co-producing Never Neverland. He also co-wrote and is attached to direct the feature film, Breathing Water, based on Kaye Gibbon’s acclaimed novel, Sights Unseen.
CAROLINE MCGRAW | liquid humanity
Caroline McGraw is an advocate for women and children’s health and healing. Caroline recently published her first children’s book, Litsemba! Litsemba!, which means ‘hope’ in SiSwati, the language of the people of Swaziland. She wrote this beautiful book to help end the cycle of poverty through education and the building of new schools in Swaziland, Africa. Caroline often quotes author and Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel, "I swore never to be silent whenever and wherever human beings endure suffering and humiliation. We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented." For the past 5 years, Caroline has been traveling to Africa where she has helped build homes for the homeless, planted gardens for the hungry, and comforted countless orphaned children who have lost their parents due to the AIDS pandemic. Her passion has led her to Kenya, Uganda, South Africa and Swaziland. Prior to her efforts in Africa, Caroline was co-director for seven years of a non-profit children’s advocacy group. She worked alongside world-renowned genetic researchers and families to help locate the defective gene for G.E.R.D. (published author, JAMA article July 19, 2000). Most recently, Caroline has become Special Projects Coordinator for the marginalized and poor to help create jobs and income for dozens of widows in Swaziland with great hopes to expand to other countries. Caroline completed her 7th marathon in 2010 as part of a team raising awareness for Swaziland's orphans and widows. Last and certainly not least, Caroline loves and cares for her amazing husband and four beautiful children.
AMY JANAE | director of communications
After earning her Bachelor’s degree at Olivet Nazarene University in her hometown of Bourbonnais, Illinois, Amy’s career pursuits have taken her on an expansive journey. Her professional career began as an elementary school teacher both locally in Illinois and Los Angeles and globally in Africa. Her time spent teaching in Kenya shaped her world perspective, and gave her a heart for humanitarian and philanthropic endeavors. Her extensive background in theatre combined with a love for storytelling drew her to Los Angeles in 2006. She has enjoyed both on and off-screen work as an actress and singer. As Director of Communications, Amy’s main roles include communicating Liquid Worldwide’s vision through public speaking, writing, social networking, content editing, and campaign coordinating. In addition, Amy is currently writing the first of several non-fiction books documenting personal and humanitarian stories.
LAURA ADAMS | co-founder
A Los Angeles native, Laura Adams has a diverse entertainment portfolio with a primary focus on humanitarian and lifestyle-based stories for Broadcast Television (HGTV, PAX, and NRB), critically acclaimed short-films, feature film development, promos, documentaries, and musical theater. A partial list includes the Angel Award winning Somebody Loves Me (Associate producer/editor), Hush (producer), The Visits (art director); What Crime Pays (producer/writer). First (producer/writer/director), Cesar Millan's The Dog Whisperer (director/story producer), Trade As One (producer/director), Proven Winners (director/writer), Living with Juvenile Diabetes (producer/writer), Da’ Babies EPK/Music video (producer), Heart For Africa: Swaziland (director/producer/writer), and 2009 Heartland Film Festival Audience FavoriteThe Sold Project: Cat (director/story producer). Adams collaborated with LA Loves (501c3) to produce for clients such as The Salvation Army and Angels of East Africa, creating awareness around modern day slavery in Africa and the United States. Recently she produced a tribute for the Royal Family of Swaziland. Adams is selective in her pursuits; inspired most by 'real people’ living extraordinary lives and thrives on assuring their inspiring stories engage audiences.
